Welcome to the IB Programme at Unity Reed High School!
The IB continuum of international education is unique because of its academically challenging and balanced approaches to teaching and learning. We challenge students to excel in their studies and in their personal growth. We aim to inspire a quest for learning throughout life that is marked by enthusiasm and empathy. The IB aspires to help schools develop well-rounded students with character: students who respond to challenges with optimism and an open mind; students who are confident in their own identities; students who make ethical decisions; students who join with others in celebrating our common humanity; students who are prepared to apply what they learn in the real world, complex and unpredictable situations.

Middle Years Programme
The Middle Years Programme, or MYP, is for 9th and 10th grade students. For more information, visit the URHS Middle Years Programme page and/or visit the official IB website regarding the Middle Years Programme.

Diploma Programme
The Diploma Programme, or DP, is for 11th and 12th grade students. The programme aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge - students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally, and ethically. DP classes carry a weighted GPA and end in examinations that may result in university credit. Students may take a single DP course or pursue the IB Diploma by testing in all six subject areas and completing the IB Core. For more information, visit the URHS Diploma Programme page and/or visit the official IB website regarding the Diploma Programme.

Career-Related Programme

The programme prepares students for further education, apprenticeships, or employment. Students in the CP take at least two DP classes, the CP core, and a career study in Air Force JROTC, Aviation Maintenance, Business, Cosmetology, Electricity, Firefighting, Leadership and Human Organization - SALC, Project Lead the Way Engineering, or Teaching and Education.
